London, UK – Sullivan & Worcester is delighted to announce that Geoffrey Wynne, partner and head of the firm’s London office and the firm’s Trade & Export Finance practice, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 6th Annual Receivables Finance International (RFIx) 2024 Awards held last night in London by publisher BCR.

The RFIx Awards recognise those in the receivables and payables finance ecosystem including banks, non-banks, fintechs, trade credit insurance providers, consultancies and legal advisers that have succeeded in a fast-changing business environment.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to "an individual who has made a significant contribution to build and shape the global receivables finance industry during their career. Their contribution will have driven new developments across the industry. They will have successfully steered companies and mentored colleagues through challenges and taken strategic leadership within their organisation and the factoring community as a whole."

In making this award to Geoff it also acknowledges him as a key influencer within the wider industry as a whole.

It also follows recognition at the RFIx 2023 awards when Geoff was named "Industry Ambassador of the Year," for which he was recognised as having done more than any other to "promote, develop and enhance the reputation, economic role, and social status of the receivables finance industry."

Geoffrey Wynne commented: "I am delighted and honored to receive this award, which takes into account all those involved in the receivables finance industry, which is full of experience and talent.

I have seen huge changes to the industry in my career, but it appears to be moving more quickly and changing faster than at any time I can remember.

I have many people to thank professionally and personally, not least my partners and colleagues at Sullivan in London and in New York but most importantly the loyal clients who have kept the firm at the forefront of receivables, trade and export finance and the digitisation of trade for well over a decade."

Geoff has led Sullivan & Worcester’s London office and its market-leading trade and export finance practice for more than a decade. The award-winning team is among the elite providers of legal advice in relation to structuring receivables, trade, export and commodity finance transactions to major trade finance banks and other financial institutions, funds, corporate borrowers, agents and trustees, and national and international organisations.

Having been involved with the key trade industry bodies in the UK – the ICC, ITFA and BAFT – for many years, Geoff and the firm continue to play a significant role in the future of the industry, helping clients and the industry to resolve issues they face, including relating to the digitalisation of trade and trade finance, and helping to pave the way for the use of electronic negotiable instruments in the UK and internationally.
