Washington, D.C. – International law firm Sullivan & Worcester today announced that Cameron N. Cosby has joined the firm’s marquee REITs and tax practices as a Partner in the Washington, D.C., office. Previously with Fried Frank, he brings more than 35 years of experience with tax aspects related to real estate investment trusts (REITs), partnership transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.

Cosby represents REITs and real estate companies in a wide range of transactions, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and going-private transactions. In addition, he advises both issuers and underwriters in real estate-related capital markets transactions and public and private mergers and acquisitions. “Cam’s arrival underscores our continued investment in top-tier talent to meet the growing demand for sophisticated tax and REIT counsel,” said Angela Gomes, Partner and leader of Sullivan’s REITs practice. “We look forward to working alongside him as we continue to deliver exceptional results for our clients."

Cosby earned his Juris Doctor at William and Mary School of Law and his undergraduate degree at University of Virginia.

A recognized thought leader, Cosby has published numerous articles and is a frequent speaker on current tax issues. In addition to his active practice, he is a member of the Advisory Council (Tax Conference) at William & Mary School of Law, serves on the Board of Trustees of the Southern Federal Tax Institute, is a member of the American Bar Association’s Partnership and Real Estate Committees, Tax Section, and is a member of the Government Relations Committee of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. Both Cosby and Ponda are ranked by Chambers and Partners as national Band 1 attorneys in the category of REIT Tax.
