New York City and Boston – International law firm Sullivan & Worcester announced that David Danovitch, a corporate partner, has been elected the new Office Managing Partner (OMP) for the firm’s New York City office. Danovitch is taking the reins from Jon “Jay” Jenkins who served in that role for over two decades.
“As we move past the pandemic years and look ahead to the evolution of Sullivan’s growth in New York City, we’re confident that David is the right leader to move us forward,” said Joel Carpenter, co-managing partner of Sullivan. “Jay Jenkins did an incredible job throughout his tenure, particularly for the past three unprecedented years, and we are grateful to him. With strong leadership in place and a commitment to client service, we know that the New York City office will continue to grow and thrive.”
In addition to his responsibilities as New York’s OMP, Danovitch has also joined the firm’s Management Committee.
“For 40 years, we’ve been doing great work at Sullivan in New York City,” said Danovitch. “I expect to build on our strengths in U.S. and Global Capital Markets, Regulatory Compliance, Fintech and Trusts & Estates. In addition to my outstanding colleagues already in the New York office, we’re actively looking to attract great talent. Already in recent months, several senior corporate associates have joined Sullivan, and we are in active discussions with several partners in various practice areas who will add further depth and dimension to our office. Increasing our presence in New York City is a firm goal and I look forward to executing on our growth strategy.”
Danovitch has extensive transaction experience representing issuers, broker-dealers and investment funds in financings, capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and enforcement inquiries. His clients span a variety of industries and his practice includes such matters as general corporate governance, securities regulation, and financings. He also maintains several securities industry licenses, including the Series 24 (Registered Principal), Series 7 (General Securities), Series 79 (Investment Banking), and Series 99 (Operations), which gives him a unique insight into the challenges facing regulated firms. He will continue focusing on his practice in addition to his OMP duties.
