Boston, MA  – Sullivan & Worcester announced today that partners Nicole Crum and Louis Monti have been selected to lead the firm’s Lateral Partner Hiring Committee. Nicole, who is based in Washington, D.C., chairs the firm’s Corporate Governance & Board Advisory practice and is a member of the Investment Management Group. Boston-based Lou is a member of the Real Estate Group, representing real estate investment trust clients, and is also a member of the firm’s Management Committee.

"Nicole and Lou have the experience and intuitive knowledge to recognize laterals whose practices will strengthen our client offerings and whose approach to client service is aligned with Sullivan’s culture," said David Nagle, co-managing partner of Sullivan. "I look forward to working strategically with Lou and Nicole to broaden our ranks with top talent and diverse colleagues who will provide our clients with outstanding legal solutions."

Nicole and Lou are eagerly taking on this additional role as the firm implements its growth strategy across all offices, particularly in New York and Washington, D.C., leveraging other members of the Lateral Partner Hiring Committee to identify candidates whose practices provide synergies with existing practice groups. Nicole and Lou emphasize a thoughtful and holistic approach to lateral recruiting which focuses on ensuring a high level of support for new lateral partners and intentionality around their integration in the firm.

The firm is known as an attractive platform for lateral partners and counsel from AmLaw 50 firms seeking to maintain the sophistication of work and client base from their prior firms, but with a more supportive and entrepreneurial platform. The firm has recently attracted lateral partners and counsel from Kirkland & Ellis, DLA Piper, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Goodwin Procter and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Finally, Nicole and Lou are focused on bringing a broad and diverse group of top talent to the firm and reinforcing the firm’s commitment to diversity along numerous dimensions. In 2022, the firm achieved Mansfield Certification status for Mansfield Rule 5.0 from Diversity Lab, an organization working to support law firms’ efforts to increase leadership diversity.
