Natasha Varyani, Academic in Residence and a member of the firm’s Tax Group, has been promoted to full professor with tenure at Roger Williams University School of Law.

Natasha’s promotion was unanimously approved by the law school’s Board of Directors, the university’s Board of Trustees, Acting RWU President Heather Boujoulian, the Retention, Promotion and Tenure Committee and the dean of RWU Law. This marks the first time in several years that a current faculty member has received both tenure and promotion to full professor at the law school.

At Roger Williams, Natasha teaches and writes in the areas of tax and property law. Her recent scholarship includes Owning Our Values: Understanding Systemic Racism Through the Lens of Property Law (And Skills to Do Something About It), which examines how legal systems have historically shaped social and economic outcomes. In addition to her academic work, Natasha is known for her mentorship and service to the legal and academic communities.

At Sullivan, she advises clients on complex state and local tax matters, including nexus, apportionment, unitary business issues and the taxation of digital products.
