Geoffrey Wynne has written an article for the ICC United Kingdom titled “The Electronic Trade Documents Act and Digitalising Trade,” which discusses the background to, and need for, the Electronic Trade Documents Act (ETDA), its purpose from a legal point of view, giving legal recognition to the digital form of specific documents used in trade which meet key criteria, and giving these documents the same legal effect as if they were in paper form, as well as how to meet these criteria and the way forward.
