Biography

Matthew is an intellectual property attorney with a focus on patent strategy, prosecution and portfolio development in the life sciences and advanced technology industries. Before joining Sullivan, he served as Director, Patent Counsel at Elektrofi, a biotechnology company. His work at Elektrofi included freedom-to-operate analysis, competitive landscape assessments, invention mining, employee IP training, and close collaboration with R&D teams on trade secrets and licensing.

Previously, Matthew was of counsel at another global law firm in Boston, where he helped expand the firm’s life sciences practice and prosecuted patent applications across technologies including CRISPR gene editing, water filtration, industrial manufacturing, electro-mechanical devices and software/machine learning.
