Geoffrey Wynne participated in a panel discussion titled “Regulating for Growth” at the ICC UK’s half day conference “Making Trade Finance Cheaper and More Accessible” on March 25.

2025 offers some unique reform opportunities to establish a more competitive, agile regulatory framework to reduce barriers, streamline processes and improve access to trade finance.

Moderated by Chris Southworth, Secretary General, ICC UK, this session was a deep dive into regulatory developments, reform recommendations to government and opportunities to support efforts. The discussion included US/UK decisions on Basel III, next steps to streamline KYC processes, the implementation of digital identities, fraud prevention and what to expect from the UK International Trade Strategy. The session included the latest insights from the Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology (CFIT) and Trade Digitalisation Taskforce.
