Sullivan & Worcester invited Massachusetts attorneys to participate in a specialized training session on December 12, 2024. The training focused on supporting individuals in requesting new or extended abuse prevention orders.

Hosted by:
The Victim Rights Law Center, a nonprofit organization providing free comprehensive legal services to sexual assault survivors in Massachusetts and Oregon, led the session and informed participants of available pro bono opportunities.

Highlights of the Training:

  • Representation: Learned effective and sensitive approaches to working with victims of sexual assault or stalking. The session included best practices tailored to pro bono representation.
  • Safety: Gained insights into securing restraining orders to ensure victims’ safety at school, work, and home. Updates on 209A and 258E orders, including provisions on coercive control, was also covered.
