Sullivan's Gaming and Lottery Law Group advises clients, such as lottery systems suppliers, video lottery terminal manufacturers, gaming software developers and software services providers, in the gaming and lottery industries. The Group represents gaming and lottery clients in North America, Europe and the Middle East with a focus on wager-based and social gaming and related activities. In addition, the Group works with clients to structure, negotiate and draft complex and multi-tiered license, supply and support agreements, as well as joint venture agreements and private management contracts.

Also advised CME in connection with a strategic investment in the company by eSports Mogul (ESM), an ASX-listed eSports media company, as well as a multi-year licensing agreement with ESM for the Asia-Pacific region
  • Providing advice relating to compliance with the ever-changing state and federal laws in the United States regarding online wagering and Internet play for fun gaming
  • Representing a leading gaming technology and services company with respect to various copyright and rights clearance issues related to use of musical compositions on certain of its gaming machines and drafting celebrity endorsement agreements, including a multi-year licensing agreement with a rock band and major motion picture studio brands
  • Representing a gaming company in connection with the preparation and negotiation of trademark and brand licensing agreements as well as product development agreements with certain state lotteries
  • Representing a lottery services company in developing a comprehensive online game developer network and marketplace for lotteries where game developers submit online games for review and commercialization by lotteries throughout the U.S. and around the world
  • Providing review and legal compliance services for website promotions run by state lotteries in connection with retail lottery games, including use of intellectual property and third party brands, legal disclaimers, Official Rules, Terms of Use and Privacy Policies
  • Draft promotion rules to protect clients’ interests and review advertisements such as direct mail, websites and banner advertisements related to promotions
  • Represent clients in the development and commercialization of mobile apps through Facebook, Apple, Google Play and other social media sites
