This Startup Series workshop, "Working with Strategic Partners," was led by Lew Segall, partner in our Corporate Department.
Beyond the "traditional" angel/VC funding route, more established players in a start-up’s industry can be a valuable source of funding, insight and development. Partnering with strategic players can help a start-up get to the next level, without requiring a founder to sacrifice as much equity or control often demanded by private investors. Lew discussed how these types of deals have significant issues that need to be addressed in order to ensure a successful, long-term partnership.
