Strategies for Competitive Compensation
David Guadagnoli spoke on the topic, "Strategies for Competitive Compensation," at the New England Chapter of The ESOP Association's Fall Conference.
David will identified various compensation programs typically available for consideration to enable ESOP companies to attract, incentivize, reward and retain the employees that can help a company achieve success. Topics of discussion included:
- Base pay, annual incentive pay and long-term incentive plans
- The appropriateness of equity-based plans that include stock options, stock appreciation rights and/or phantom stock
- Typical design considerations in connection with such plans and the extent to which the ESOP itself should be considered as long-term compensation
- The role of the board of directors, management compensation consultants, and ESOP trustees in designing, adopting and monitoring these programs.
