Employment and Benefits Basics for Startup Companies
Our fourth workshop, “Employment and Benefits Basics for Startup Companies,” was led by David Guadagnoli and Amy Sheridan, partners at Sullivan & Worcester. This presentation offered practical guidance on critical benefits and employment law issues for start-ups. On the benefits side, we discussed elements of competitive compensation and benefits packages and provided a primer on equity compensation arrangements. On the employment side, we discussed how to protect the company’s intellectual property and customer goodwill through the use and timing of confidentiality, non-solicitation and non-competition agreements.
