Sullivan Continues Growth; Adds Two Partners and One Counsel in Three U.S. Offices
Boston – International law firm Sullivan & Worcester is pleased to announce that three attorneys have joined the firm, deepening their bench in marquee practices. Tax partner Irina Pisareva will be working out of the New York City office, Litigation partner Michael T. Dyson will be housed in DC and Robert Yamartino is returning to the firm’s Boston headquarters as Real Estate counsel.
"We’re thrilled to have these three talented lawyers joining, or in Bob's case, rejoining, the firm," said managing partner Joel Carpenter. "Having Irina and Mike on board expands our capabilities and adds depth and experience to our celebrated Tax and Litigation practices. And Bob’s return to the Boston office speaks not only to the collegial culture at Sullivan, but also to the strength of our Real Estate practice group. As we look ahead to the new year, our strategic growth and ability to attract top professionals will continue to benefit both the firm and, most importantly, our clients."
Irina Pisareva joins Sullivan after more than 20 years at Ernst & Young where she was a principal with the Wealth and Asset Management practice and advised clients on U.S. and international taxation of global investment portfolios, new fund structures, business reorganizations, capital structure changes, credit transactions and litigation finance. Irina’s practice focuses on investment and registered funds, institutional asset managers, family offices and companies in the life science and high-tech industries. She earned her law degree from St. Petersburg State University and her LL.M. in International Taxation from New York University School of Law.
"Sullivan’s tax team is exceptional and well-known for its smart, efficient yet creative solutions to client issues," Pisareva said. "With governments worldwide looking for ways to fund pandemic response and recovery, we can expect further changes to the global tax environment. Clients will need reliable counsel more than ever before. I’m confident that at Sullivan we will provide that high-level of counsel on which our clients depend. I’m pleased to have found my new professional home and look forward to contributing to Sullivan’s ongoing success."
Michael T. Dyson comes to Sullivan’s DC office as a partner from K&L Gates. Mike has significant experience representing broker-dealers, public and private companies and directors, with enforcement issues before the SEC, DOJ, FINRA and other government agencies. His practice focuses on litigation, enforcement, regulation, arbitration and compliance matters. He earned his undergraduate degree from James Madison University and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
"Sullivan’s DC office is known for its outstanding Investment Management group and my practice aligns very well with the work my new colleagues are doing, bringing another level of service to clients," Dyson said. "This is a great firm and I’m excited about the future here."
Robert C. Yamartino returns to Sullivan as counsel with the firm’s Boston Real Estate practice group. Yamartino was previously with DLA Piper, having started his career at Sullivan. Yamartino focuses his practice on representing property owners, purchasers, borrowers and investors in the acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing of office, industrial, retail and bio-medical facilities. He earned his J.D. at University of Connecticut School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Bates College.
In September, Sullivan added Daniel Rosenfeld, formerly of DLA Piper, as a partner in their Litigation practice group in Boston. Since 2019, Sullivan has added 34 lateral attorneys in the firm’s U.S. and London offices and expanded the breadth of services provided.
