Simon Cook Appointed to ITFA Board as Head of Education

London, UK – Global law firm Sullivan & Worcester is delighted to announce that trade and export finance partner Simon Cook has been appointed to the Executive Board of the International Trade and Forfaiting Association (ITFA), the worldwide trade association for companies, financial institutions and intermediaries engaged in global trade, forfaiting, supply chain and receivables financing.

Simon, who has been a partner at Sullivan in London for eight years, takes on the role of Head of Education at ITFA, with responsibility for the association’s training and education programmes, which are implemented by ITFA both centrally and through its various regional committees. ITFA’s Board includes market-leading practitioners from across the trade and export finance industry, a number of whom contributed to the 3rd edition of "A Guide to Receivables Finance" published recently by Sullivan, Deutsche Bank and ITFA (for more details please click here).

Simon’s experience across a wide variety of finance transactions, includes structured trade finance, trade finance, project finance, receivables finance and borrowing-base facilities in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the CIS. Simon acts both for lenders and borrowers notably in the oil, telecoms, soft commodities and metals sectors as well as on infrastructure projects, with particular experience in Africa and the Middle East. Simon has worked and travelled extensively in Africa and the Middle East, living in Dubai for four years, and regularly participates in the key structured trade finance and project finance conferences and seminars throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
