Sullivan Welcomes Scott Kaufman as Hi-Tech M&A Partner with Focus on U.S. and Israeli Markets
Boston (February 1, 2018) – International law firm Sullivan & Worcester LLP and ZAG/Sullivan, the joint venture between Tel Aviv-based Zysman, Aharoni, Gayer & Co. and Sullivan & Worcester, announced today that Scott Kaufman has joined the Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate practice groups and will lead the firm’s Emerging Companies & Venture Capital practice in New York. Kaufman, whose work focuses on counseling start-up technology companies and handling multi-national mergers and acquisitions, also represents clients in private and public securities offerings.
"Scott’s joining the firm gives Sullivan & Worcester a heightened presence in the entrepreneurial high-tech community and in the dynamic New York City market," said Lewis Segall, partner and head of the Corporate/M&A group. "His experience working with U.S. tech companies will better position Sullivan nationally while enabling us to give ZAG/Sullivan clients the benefit of his deep transactional experience. Scott adds outstanding bench strength to our team."
Oded Har-Even, managing director of ZAG/Sullivan, views the synergy between Kaufman’s knowledge base and the firm’s current Israeli client base as a winning combination. "Scott’s understanding of the issues facing fast-growing start-ups and private tech businesses bolsters ZAG/Sullivan’s position as the firm best equipped to help Israeli companies access U.S. capital and to advise private tech enterprises."
Kaufman is an acknowledged leader in high-tech finance, mergers and acquisitions and in corporate governance. Prior to joining Sullivan & Worcester, he was a partner at Wiggin and Dana LLP.
"Sullivan & Worcester offers a tremendous opportunity to take advantage of the explosive activity in New York’s start-up community," Kaufman said. "And with its international platform via ZAG/Sullivan, I can provide clients with greater support as they grow in size and complexity. I’m pleased to make this my new professional home."
Kaufman received his J.D. with honors at Duke University School of Law and his B.A. with distinction from the University of Michigan.
