In Memoriam: Roger B. Hunt
Roger B. Hunt, a Trusts & Estates partner in the Boston office from 1983 until 1999, passed away on May 7, 2018. Roger continued to work at S&W as of counsel until his passing.
Born in New York City, Roger grew up in Riverside, CT and attended Rye Country Day School. He went on to graduate from Phillips Academy Andover (1948), Harvard College (1952) and Harvard Law School (1955), and then served as sergeant in the US Army at Fort Bliss, TX and in Verona, Italy; here, he developed a love of Venice that would last the rest of his life. He served the greater Boston community throughout his career as Chair of the Needham Conservation Commission, Secretary and Life Trustee of The Trustees of Reservations, President of the Dedham Country and Polo Club, and a member of the Board of Overseers for the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Roger enjoyed many happy summers with family and friends in Prouts Neck, Maine. An avid player of racket sports, a lover of birds and music, Roger showed spirit and engagement whether in consultation or competition.
To honor Roger's memory, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Neighborhood House Charter School, Dorchester, MA; or the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
