Allison Weiss Joins Sullivan, Strengthening Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice in New York
New York, NY, March 30, 2017 – Sullivan today announced that Allison Weiss has joined the firm as counsel, adding to the firm’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring Group in New York, an important strategic priority for the firm.
“Allison is a seasoned bankruptcy lawyer and has significant experience with some of the largest restructurings and bankruptcies that have been filed since the 2008 financial crisis,” said Jeffrey Gleit, lead partner in the New York Bankruptcy Group at Sullivan. “We are pleased to have her on board. She will be able to hit the ground running in a quickly evolving environment for restructurings.”
Ms. Weiss represents debtors, financial guarantors, indenture trustees, creditors and shareholders in chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings. Prior to joining Sullivan, Ms. Weiss was senior counsel and legal analyst at a distressed debt/restructuring subscription service company and assisted in its launch into the North American market. Before going in-house, Ms. Weiss was counsel and advised on numerous bankruptcy and restructuring matters at Hogan Lovells and Dewey & LeBoeuf. Her practice covered all aspects of domestic and international business reorganizations and debt restructurings, as well as crisis management, corporate governance and the acquisition and sale of assets and troubled companies in chapter 11. She has extensive experience in a variety of workouts, corporate restructurings, and chapter 11 reorganizations in a wide array of industries, including insurance, energy, financial services, retail, airline, healthcare, automotive, and telecommunications.

Ms. Weiss received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
