Sullivan Hosts A Conversation on Brexit with Ambassador Daniel Mulhall
Sullivan, in partnership with the Consulate General of Ireland, hosted "A Conversation on Brexit" with Ambassador of Ireland to the United States Daniel Mulhall at a private luncheon on February 25, 2020 at the Boston College Club. Ambassador Mulhall discussed the political, trade and economic implications of Brexit for the United States, Europe, United Kingdom and Ireland, with a particular focus on United States-European trade talks.
Sullivan partner Aidan Browne, who works extensively on matters related to Irish law, noted that the ambiguities related to Brexit are unsettling: “We are living in unpredictable times with uncertain outcomes with respect to Brexit. Most significant to Ireland, the only English-speaking member of the European Union, may be the US/EU and UK/EU trade talks,” Aidan said. “At Sullivan, we’re monitoring progress of trade talks, and in particular, Sullivan’s International Tax and Trade Finance practices are closely observing the outcomes."
