Associate Position, Intellectual Property — Boston, MA or New York, NY

Sullivan's intellectual property lawyers draw on their business judgment and legal insight to create cost-effective and innovative solutions to clients' intellectual property issues. We are seeking a licensing associate with a minimum of 5 years of intellectual property and technology licensing experience.  Candidates will be engaged in transactional matters and will provide drafting and negotiation support for a wide range of commercial contracts, including software licenses, SaaS agreements, consulting services agreements and non-disclosure agreements. Associate/Counsel Position, Permitting & Land Use — Boston, MA

We are looking to hire an experienced permitting and land-use attorney with three to ten years of experience in Massachusetts. The right candidate will have at least three years of experience practicing before local zoning boards throughout Massachusetts, a solid understanding of M.G.L. c. 40A, and experience working on large-scale, complex projects. The ideal candidate will have more than three years of experience and will have experience beyond local zoning including other common local land-use regulations – e.g. wetlands and roadways – as well as state permits and approvals, including MEPA, DOT, and DEP. Preference is for an attorney who also has experience working on large-scale projects in Boston, Cambridge, and/or Somerville, and also for an attorney with experience resolving complex land-use issues in relation to title and easements. The candidate must be an excellent writer, be comfortable advocating at public meetings and hearings, and must be a hard worker.

We will consider a candidate in the greater New England area if they have more than seven years of permitting and land-use experience including local, state, and federal regulations and approvals.

The candidate will join a busy and rapidly growing permitting and land-use group that specializes in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville and represents large clients on projects generally ranging from 200,000 square feet to 2 million square feet.

Associate Position, Real Estate — Boston, MA

Sullivan's Real Estate Group is engaged in every aspect of the commercial real estate industry, including: acquisitions and dispositions, development, finance, leasing, zoning and environmental compliance and permitting, workouts and REITs. We represent a broad spectrum of clients, including owners, developers, investors, lenders and tenants in projects of all sizes.

We are seeking a midlevel associate to join our Real Estate Group. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of broad real estate experience with a focus on national commercial leasing matters, representing both landlords and tenants (with landlord-side leasing a requirement) in all aspects of leasing transactions. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, work well in a team, be detail-oriented and self-motivated.

Associate Position, Real Estate - Affordable Housing Group — Boston, MA

Sullivan’s Affordable Housing Group is a dynamic, cross-disciplinary team that represents all parties involved in the affordable housing industry. Our clients include for-profit and not-for-profit developers, lenders and investors.

We are seeking a midlevel associate with 3-5 years of affordable housing and community development experience. In addition, the candidate should have transactional experience representing developers and investors with respect to multifamily and commercial properties as well as a strong interest in real estate finance and housing and community development. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, work well in a team, be detail-oriented and self-motivated.

Associate Position, Trade Finance — London, UK

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic associates to join our market-leading and award winning trade, commodity and export finance team in London. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of transactional and advisory matters, including structured and unstructured trade finance, receivables and supply chain finance matters, as well as, fintech and other trade digitalisation projects. The roles will involve acting for a diverse client base, from global financial institutions to boutique alternative trade financiers to tech start-ups, in jurisdictions all across the globe.

We have roles available from NQ to 6 PQE. Applicants should have a strong academic background with experience working in a respected banking and finance practice. Experience of working in trade finance (whether in-house or private practice) is helpful but not required.
